Newsletter Editor: Janene Harper; Membership: Jeanie Tolliver; Awards: Tiffany Whited;  Pleasure Rides: Mary Ben Marshall; Hospitality Vickie Mitchell.

Purpose:
The purpose of the club is to promote all phases of trail riding as a family activity and to educate the public as to the care and conditioning of the horse for trail activities.

Membership:
Membership is open to all people interested in trail riding. The cost is $20 individual or $25 family membership. Membership Chairperson is Jeanie Tolliver, Box 460, Roff, OK 74865, email cjtollie@yahoo.com for more information. OETRA meets at various locations throughout the state. Many of the board meetings are held during weekend trail rides.

Communications:
The OETRA communicates to its members through a wonderful monthly newsletter full of trail riding reports, a large calendar of Oklahoma rides and neighboring states, as well as trail riding and horse tips. The club also has a website and a Yahoo message board for members only.

Awards Program:
Riders and their horses are recognized through the OETRA awards program for pleasure, competitive and endurance riding mileage. To accumulate mileage, riders must participate in an OETRA-recognized mileage event.

Competitive Trail Riding:
The OETRA works with the North American Trail Ride Conference to host the Annual Robbers Route Competitive Ride held at Robbers Cave State Park in Wilburton, OK. Volunteers support these rides as coordinators and crews.

Competitive Trail Riding uses time, distance and stress not speed as judging criteria. Judging is based upon each horse starting the ride with a score of 100 points, evaluated by soundness: 45%; condition: 40%; and Trail ability/manners 15%.

The horsemanship judges will judge the rider as follows:
20% Grooming/ presentation of horse and tack fit
50% Trail equitation
30% Trail care and safety

Placing are given to both riders and horses. NATRC accumulates points for NATRC members who are eligible for regional and national awards. For more information, visit the NATRC Region 4  web site at http://www.natrc4.org/

Pleasure Rides:
The OETRA is the host of many pleasure rides held throughout the year. Those rides are listed on the calendar of events page. The club also helps maintain many of the Oklahoma equestrian trails and was instrumental in the addition of equestrian camps and facilities added with the trails. Club members host workdays to keep our horse trails nice for everyone and to trail blaze new areas.
